Becoming very windy. Outbreaks of thundery rain.
How Windy?
Southeasterly, strengthening markedly from 15mph until mid-morning to 30 to perhaps 35mph, gusts 50mph late afternoon or evening.
Effect Of Wind?
Buffeting will become widespread and later i day considerable on many areas - in places sudden gusts to low levels.
How Wet?
Intermittent rain; becoming heavy, risk lightning.
Pulses of rain will increasingly move north across the region. Some heavy downpours will develop with thunder in afternoon and evening.
Cloud on the hills?
Shrouding most hills to a very low level
Overall, low cloud very widespread above 600 to 800m, but in places forming at or below 300m, particularly eastern/southern Cairngorms and Lochnagar. Some western summits may clear to or above 1000m now and again.

Sunshine and air clarity?
Little if any sunshine. Hazy with visibility often dropping further in rain, and extensively foggy across even many lower hills.

A brief spell of very cold and, for a while, gale force northwest to northerly winds later Wednesday and into Thursday with a return of snow showers particularly to the NE Highlands where one should be prepared for brief periods of whiteout conditions combined with very severe wind chill. Threat of an area of rain with snow on summits edging into some eastern ranges later Thursday or Friday. Turning milder with some rain or showers extending from the northwest over the weekend.
