Overnight rain will clear Cairngorms and Monadhliath late morning. Otherwise scattered briefly heavy showers, mainly afternoon, but most areas dry.

Cloud occasionally covering higher summits until late morning toward southwest. But widespread cloud on Cairngorms and Monadhliath will clear gradually through the middle of the day, with more or less all summits cloud free by mid-afternoon.

Generally chilly over the coming week, with the freezing level remaining intermittently below highest summits. Overall showery, although early next week, areas of persistent rain will affect most mountain areas, with north and northwest Scotland probably having least rainfall. Fresh snow will intermittently fall on higher, mainly Scottish summits. Upland gales may well be extensive on Monday and Tuesday, after much lighter winds this weekend, and before a further few days of much lighter winds. Cloud base will often be above most summits, and visibility often excellent or superb.
