Turning cooler and more unsettled through Friday and into the weekend with most places seeing some heavy rain or showers at one time or another. Gales likely across higher tops over England, Wales and perhaps later also the south and west of Scotland on Saturday and into Sunday. Slow trend towards more generally drier, warmer conditions early next week. However threat of some rain and lower temperatures for a while late Thursday or Friday.
