Planning Outlook for all mountain areas from Wednesday, 22nd May, 2013

A brief spell of very cold and, for a while, gale force northwest to northerly winds later Wednesday and into Thursday with a return of snow showers particularly to the NE Highlands where one should be prepared for brief periods of whiteout conditions combined with very severe wind chill. Threat of an area of rain with snow on summits edging into some eastern ranges later Thursday or Friday. Turning milder with some rain or showers extending from the northwest over the weekend.
