Most or all areas dry, although small risk of flurries or possibly an hour or two of constant light snow, mainly east.

Confined to higher areas

Cloud base typically 600 to 800m eastern hills. Further west, cloud is likely to break to 900m or above.

40% east to 80% west

Sunshine and air clarity?

Patches of sunshine, mainly western areas. Excellent visibility, although hazy at lower levels and possibly foggy in some valleys.

Freezing more or less from valleys upward with terrain remaining frozen.


Planning Outlook for all mountain areas from Tuesday, 21st May, 2013

Turning appreciably colder particularly across the Highlands with freezing levels as low as 700m by Thursday and some snow showers. Wind chill will be severe in gale force northerly winds. Further south not quite as cold with only a few showers in the east, bright sunshine and widely excellent visibilities. Turning cloudier and less cold from the northwest by the weekend with freezing levels near highest summits. Also patches of rain or showers most days.
